CWO Courses

The CWO plaster application course seeks to teach junior emergency staff the basics of bone healing and principles of plaster application. 

Delegates are taken through demonstrations of application of both upper and lower limb casts and then there is ample opportunity for all the attendees to participate in being the applicator, the recipient and the assistant. 

After the lunch break and sponsor talks, there are case studies reviews of commonly encountered scenarios and then a feedback session to conclude. We seek to make this course an integral part of the local junior doctor training schedule.

Thank you very much for holding the workshop. I learnt and reinforced a lot of knowledge. It would be quite beneficial to attend other similar workshops, since as EM physicians, like you said, we deal with a lot of MSK conditions. Perhaps you could have workshops that tackle more commonly encountered traumatic/infective ortho/soft tissue conditions, since those are also pretty commonly encountered in the ED. And maybe also hold drills on how to tackle trauma patients, both in paediatric and adult populations
